As we come to the close of 2025, we can honestly say this year has been one for the books. It’s been a year of big dreams, real challenges, powerful lessons, meaningful wins and moments that truly tested our resilience. And as always here at Diaspora Connect, we believe in keeping it real. So let’s take a moment to reflect, together, on the highs and lows of 2025 — and why this year has left us more committed than ever.
A Year That Started With Big Plans
Like many of you, we entered 2025 with big goals and bold ambitions. We were energized and ready to take things to the next level. But as the saying goes, “If you want to make God laugh, make plans.” 2025 stretched us. It challenged us. But most importantly, it grew us.
The Setbacks
Pressing Pause on ZIPC to Prepare for Better One of the toughest decisions we made this year was pressing pause on the Zambia Property Investors Club. This community, launched in 2024, was designed to bring like-minded Zambians together to dive deeper into real estate strategies, asset classes and investment planning.
While the conversations were rich and the content valuable, growth wasn’t where we wanted it to be. Rather than push forward for the sake of it, we stepped back to reassess how we can add even more value. The good news? The Club is coming back in 2026 — bigger, better and more impactful. Our goal is to build a community where your real estate pain points are addressed head-on, where expertise is accessible and where support and encouragement are part of the journey.
The Hack That Nearly Took It All
Another major blow came when our Gmail account was hacked — and with it, our YouTube channel was deactivated. Eight years of educational, trust-building content suddenly gone. It was devastating.But we fought back. We refused to let the hackers win. And today, we’re incredibly grateful to be speaking to you again from this very channel. That experience reminded us why this platform matters so much, especially for those of you in the diaspora who rely on us to stay connected to the Zambian real estate market. And because of that second chance, we’re committed to making 2026 our strongest YouTube year yet.
The Wins
Property Launches That Made an Impact 2025 also brought some exciting wins on the property front:
- The Hills, Parabana – A beautifully planned estate with rolling hills and strong appeal for long-term investment.
- Mpande Wildlife Estate, Kafue – Perfect for those seeking nature, peace and a retreat from city chaos.
Both launches generated incredible interest and engagement, which tells us one thing: you’re hungry for credible, verified property opportunities — and that’s exactly what we aim to deliver.
Sold Out Success Stories
One of our proudest moments this year was seeing Makeni Heights completely sell out. Knowing that many of you secured your plots through us — land you can truly call home — is incredibly rewarding And with Waterfalls Estate Phase 2 nearly sold out, we’re excited about what’s coming next, including larger plots and continued house-building options in future phases.
Education on the Real Estate Market
Education remains a cornerstone of what we do.
- Our Property Goal-Setting Webinar helped hundreds of participants map out clear, actionable property goals.
- Our National Budget & Real Estate Webinar broke down government policy and economic activity to highlight where real estate opportunities are emerging in Zambia.Together, these sessions empowered you with both when you’re investing from abroad. And yes, both webinars are coming back in 2026, starting with our annual Goal-Setting Session in March.
8 Years Strong
One of the most joyful moments of the year was our first-ever virtual birthday party. We laughed, danced, shared stories and celebrated eight years of Diaspora Connect — eight years of helping you invest back home safely, confidently and with peace of mind. It reminded us that Diaspora Connect is more than property. It’s a community.
